Decorating for the holidays is always so much fun for me. It’s an easy way to redecorate without spending a small fortune. I still can’t get over how a change in a tablecloth, place mats, & a centerpiece can make the dining area look completely different. The 4th of July is a fun tablescape to do because it’s filled with bright colors & sparkle! This year, I really wanted to emphasize the color red.
I started out with a red tablecloth and added some bright placemats that I’d made years ago. The red handled flatware was just what it needed. The ‘napkins’ are bandanas that I found at Walmart. They were perfect for the look I was going for, and the napkin rings were wooden napkin rings that I found at Michaels & painted.
I added white plates to break up the intensity of the colors.
And then, I found these melamine star shaped plates at Michaels. They were perfect!
The clear red glasses were added to go with the flatware. I added the centerpiece & the table was set! A link to how I made the centerpiece can be found here.

Then my wonderful husband brought home this:
He said that he thought it might look nice for the 4th of July Tablescape. Oh, he knows me so well. I love it! (imagine, a husband who thinks about helping you with your tablescape?)
So, this is how the tablescape looks now… (the centerpiece now resides on the coffee table)
I wish everyone a safe 4th of July. Thanks for stopping by!
