Merry Christmas everyone! I know that this isn’t a traditional tree, but it’s something that I’ve been wanting to try for years. Well, this is the year! I finally have my Black & White Christmas Tree. (I can hear my sister groaning already 😉 ) I’ve been collecting black, white, crystal, iridescent & silver ornaments for several years for this tree. Finally, I got to use them.
I started out with a white tree that I added 400 mini white lights to. Oh yes, it’s bright! Then I added 12″ pieces of white mesh to fill in around the base of the trunk so that the trunk didn’t show. The garland is mirrored garland that I made this summer. I love the reflective qualities of the little mirrors. They not only reflect the lights, but the ornaments too.
If you click on the thumbnail pictures, they’ll enlarge to full size. Then just hit your back button to come back to the post.
Every year I buy one new ‘special’ ornament for the tree. It’s usually one that can be used on any tree. This is the new ornament that I bought. (I’ve got to figure out how to make my own version of it)
More ornaments. You can see the Shooting Star Ornament.
I love shoes! There’s no way around it. I’m obsessed with all kinds of shoes. So, naturally I had to have some on my tree…
And some special ornaments for the men of the house. A Dale Earnhardt, Jr. car for hubby. And a guitar for our son.
Some more black ornaments:
And some clear & frosted ornaments:
And the reason for the season:
Above, you can see the Glitter ornament. And my zebra & snow leopard ornaments are everywhere.
After I had all of the ornaments on, I added some glittered icicles
And then some silver icicles. I know a lot of people think that they’re old fashioned, but I always add silver icicles because they sparkle like crazy when the lights are off.
All that was left was adding the angel to the top of the tree.
The tree with the room lights off
And the finished Black & White Christmas Tree with the room lights on:
I’m already planning next year’s tree. Hubby wants a red, white & blue tree with a patriotic theme. Can’t wait for the ‘after Christmas sales’ to begin!
Wishing everyone a wonderful Christmas and a joyous New Year.
Happy Creating everyone!
