Breast Cancer Awareness Centerpiece

This is a tutorial on how I made the centerpiece for the Breast Cancer Awareness Tablescape.  It’s easier than you think to make it, and doesn’t have to cost you a small fortune.  I got most of the flowers on clearance, the rest I had on hand.  This centerpiece only cost me $2.00 to make.

What I used:

Centerpiece Supplies

Floral Foam Ring (I had originally gotten this from the Dollar Tree, but I reused the ring from the Patriotic Centerpiece.)

Carnations– 2 bushes  (on clearance from Walmart for $.50 each)

Pink Daisy Bushes  (on clearance from Michaels for $.68)

Pink Glitter Baby Breath (on hand)

Pink Glitter Ting Ting (on hand)

Variegated Ivy (on hand)

Floral pins (on hand)

Pink Grosgrain Ribbon (on hand)

Hot glue & glue sticks (optional)

I didn’t use much glue for this one.  I like to reuse my items, not just because I’m frugal, (ahem) but because I just don’t have the room to store all of the centerpieces that I make.

The first thing that I did was glue a band of ribbon to the bottom of the ring.  I used a lot of ribbon for this centerpiece because it’s the symbol for Breast Cancer Awareness.  I cut the stems from the bushes & inserted them evenly around the floral ring above the ribbon.

Once the flowers were spaced around the ring, I used floral pins to attach the ribbon around the flowers, making loops as I went.

Then I added more ribbon to the inside top of the ring, in and around the flowers.

Then I took small bunches of pink glitter baby breath & tucked them into the empty spaces.  The foam is soft enough that the baby breath stems just slipped in with no problem.

Once the baby breath was in place, I added some variegated ivy to fill any empty spaces that were still there.

Then I used some pink glitter Curly Ting Ting.

As you can see, it’s really curly.  I cut off the ends of the Ting Ting (making sure there was enough to make a loop and some extra to insert into the foam.)

I pressed the Ting Ting into the foam at random intervals.

All it still needed was a candle in the center, and it was done.

And naturally, I had to light the candle:

It’s ready for your tablescape!
