Corner Booth Makeover

When we first moved into our home, we bought this corner booth.  I wanted it not only for the seating, but for the extra storage that was built into the seats.  But I don’t like browns, not the color or in wood tones.   And for years, I would look at this booth & cringe.

By now, you know the way I think.  If you like the piece, but the color doesn’t go with your home…. paint it!  So I did.

It was a nice looking corner booth, but I couldn’t stand the brown anymore.

I started off by using Kilz primer & I primed the whole thing.  I started with the detail areas & finished off the rest of it.

After waiting for what seemed like hours, the primer finally dried.  I then painted on 2 coats of semi-gloss white paint, letting the first coat dry completely.  I used semi-gloss because it cleans up better.  (At least for me it does.)

Now my little corner booth is looking brand new & it goes with the color scheme in our home.  Amazing what a can of paint can do.

Remember, if you like the piece, but it doesn’t go with your decor, paint it!  It works every time.

Happy Creating everyone!
