Another project in my quest to get my life organized.
This entire project was started because I had the flu & couldn’t get out to get my best friend a birthday card. We have been friends for 40 years so she understood, but I can’t tell you how badly I felt. This will never happen again, thanks to this binder. It was so easy to put together & everything is now right at my fingertips.
I started with a 1″ wide binder & two packages of dividers with pockets.
Then I printed out the cover & spine inserts. The templates are readily available at Avery.com
Using ‘Word’, I made a table to make a list for each month where I could write in the names & dates of each birthday & anniversary that I buy cards for. I printed 2 copies using white card stock. I punched holes in one of them to put in the front of the binder.
I like the way the binder has an extra pocket on the inside. Perfect for extra, emergency cards.
The only dividers that had pockets were very dark. I was going to put a label on each one, but I decided to cut apart the second list sheet & tape them on each pocket. That way I can be sure that there is a card for each person, by month.
Now I can pick up a card that fits the person when I see it & slide it into the appropriate pocket. (There’s even a Valentine’s Day card tucked away for my wonderful hubby)
The next thing that I did was to fill in the list. I put the date before the name & if it’s for an anniversary, I put the year of their marriage after. (the names are blurred for privacy)
I have 2 pocket dividers in the back for cards that aren’t birthdays or anniversaries. These include things like Sympathy cards & Cards for new babies, New Home, etc…
This is fast becoming a lifesaver for me. I can get a card that I like anytime I’m out and about and have it on hand for when I need it.
Happy Creating everyone!
