Like I’ve said before, if you wait long enough, you’ll find what you really want at a much better price.

When my son was little, he loved drinking through a straw.  Whether it was actually drinking with a straw, or blowing bubbles through it, he loved it.

I was really happy when Joann Fabrics had straw dispensers in their picnic collection.  They came in bright, happy colors.  I loved the bright blue one and it saved me from pulling out the straw box a dozen or more times a day.

I got this dispenser about 15 years ago.  It’s held up very well, but it’s plastic.  I wanted glass, like the ones they used to use at diners.  I’ve been searching for a glass straw dispenser off and on for years.  The only place that you could find them were from restaurant supply vendors… and they were expensive.

I searched online, but I still felt that the price was too high.  Bed Bath & Beyond has them for $14.99.  The Find has them for $12.99.  Biz Rate has them for $8.99.

A couple of weeks ago, I was browsing in a local store called Ollie’s.  That’s when I saw it!  A glass & chrome straw dispenser, and the price was amazing!  It was only $3.49!  Needless to say, I grabbed it up in a hurry!

Now, after waiting & searching for years, I finally have the one I want.

It’s amazing how something so small can make me so happy.  And I knew that if I waited long enough, I’d find what I wanted at a very good price!
