I’ve been working on a new centerpiece for Halloween that I thought was fun.
I’ll be showing you how to make the entire centerpiece over the next few days. The first tutorial is how to tint & make Mod Podge candle holders. I hope you enjoy the tutorials.
The first tutorial is how to make these Pumpkin & Alien Candle Holders.
The first thing that you’ll need are some glass bowls. I got a few sizes at the Dollar Tree. I started out with some glossy Mod Podge & food coloring.
I used neon green for the alien & I mixed red & yellow for the pumpkin until I got the shade that I wanted.
I added the food coloring to the Mod Podge, a little at a time until I got the color I wanted.
Mix the food coloring into the Mod Podge well.
Once it’s mixed well, pour it into a bowl and gently swirl the mixture around until the entire inside of the bowl is coated.
Once the bowl is coated, turn it upside down to let it drain. About 24 hours.
They will dry clear.
I used black felt to make the facial features and I used double sided tape to add the features on to the bowls. Why did I use tape instead of glue? Because this shade of green is my son’s favorite & I thought he might like to use it in his room.
Add a candle:
Using some E-6000, I glued 2 glass candle sticks (from the Dollar Tree) together to give the Orange Pumpkin some height, and I used a single candle stick for the green.
You can use the E-6000 to adhere the candle sticks to the bowls and they’re done!
I hope you enjoyed the first of the Halloween candle holder centerpiece.
The next tutorial is The Mummy Candle Holder. And it’s even easier than these were.
Happy Creating everyone!
