Jeweled Christmas Ornaments

I found a sweet little 2′ white pre-lit Christmas tree at Walmart for only $10.00.  I fell in love with it, but I really didn’t have many small ornaments to fit it.  By now, you know me… if I don’t have it, or can’t find it, I’ll make it.  This is how I made some little jeweled ornaments for the little tree.

What you’ll need are some jewelry supplies.  Beads in several sizes & shapes, seed beads, head pins & jewelry  pliers.  I used pink glass beads to go with my Pink Shabby Chic Centerpiece, but you can use any color that you like.

First, you need to thread on a seed bead, because the head of the pin will probably slip through the larger beads.  Then thread the larger beads on to the head pin.  You don’t have to put the ornaments together the way I did.  These are your ornaments, make them the way that is pleasing to you.

Once you’ve threaded on the desired beads, bend over the excess wire to create an L shape.

Cut off any excess wire.  You just need enough to make a loop at the top.

Using the jewelry pliers, make a loop at the top.

I made some using pearls, too.

You’ll want to add an ornament hanger to the loop at the top.

To make the hanger a little more unique, straighten the top of the hanger & slip on a bead.  Push the bead down to cover the opening of the bottom part of the hanger.  Then all you need to do is reshape the hanger to its original shape.

And they’re done!

In case you’re wondering, the tree topper is made by layering & hot gluing items together.  I used a plastic doily tipped with pink glitter, some sheer pink ribbon (gathered in the center), a small white doily, a pink satin bow & an angel head.  It was attached to the tree using the wire that I used for the bow.

I also used some silk dried roses, some white pearl strings, some pink pearl strings, a few pink satin bows,

and some pink glittered ornaments.

It was simple & easy to make the Jeweled ornaments for the little tree.

And for the Christmas season, it will take the place of my little lamp.
