Kitty Toys

With a few basic craft supplies & some fabric scraps, you can make a toy for your kitties in no time.

Kitty Toys

All you need for this project is some fabric, upholstery thread & needle, ribbon & 1 1/2″ to 2″ pom poms.  Jingle Bell is optional.

The first thing that I did was to make a pattern.  I needed roughly a 2″ circle, so I used an old prescription bottle that I had on hand and drew around the bottle on to some card stock.

Choose your fabric.  I used fabric that I had an abundance of.  You can use anything.

Pin your pattern to the fabric, and cut out 4 circles.

I used upholstery thread to sew this project, mainly because it’s extra strong & will hold up through play time.

Stitch around the edges of the fabric circle.

Put the pom pom in the center of the fabric circle & pull the thread around the pom pom tightly.  Knot off several times so that it’s secure.

Insert the needle through the ball & add some ribbon.  Knot off.

Add a second ball & more ribbon.

Repeat two more times & know off securely.

Add the bell if you choose by stitching several time through the hanger & knot off securely.

I added a drop of Tacky Glue to the threads at the bell.  Clip off the excess threads & ribbon.

And it’s finished.

I think that the little kitty likes it.
