Making Table Scatter

I’ve been looking for orange table scatter.  I found light orange.  I found orange with black table scatter.  But I wanted something really orange, and a little glitter wouldn’t hurt either.  🙂

Since I couldn’t find what I was looking for, I did what I usually do.  I made my own!

Making Table Scatter

It was very simple to do, once I got the idea in my head.  All it takes is a total of 3 ingredients.  Large colored metal jump rings, some glitter glue and some freezer paper.

I found these rings at Joanne Fabrics.  The glitter glue I had on hand from Michaels.  Once I had the rings, I emptied the bag & separated the colors.

Since I wanted orange, I chose the copper colored rings.  The rings are opened, so I closed the ones that I was going to use.  You can see how they come opened a little better in the next photo.

I put them on the freezer paper, because the glitter glue won’t stick to it.  Then I filled the rings with the glitter glue, making sure that the glue touched the rings on all sides.

I let them dry.  And they took a very long time to dry.  Once they dried, I put a second coat of glitter glue on.  This was to fill in any spaces or indentations that were left.

They level out as they dry.  Once the second coat has dried, they can be easily removed from the freezer paper.  They are now ready to grace any tablescape.

Now I have orange table scatter that matches the project that I’m working on.  Remember, when you can’t find what you want, make it yourself!

I stored the remaining rings for future projects.  Don’t know what I’ll be doing with them, but there are lots of possibilities.

Happy Creating everyone!
