Aunt Millie was our favorite Aunt. She was a delightful person with a great sense of humor. She had a way of making you feel at home, always. I can remember Aunt Millie & Mama talking on the phone for hours, and she could make my Mama laugh like no other. When she was called home, her lovely daughters gave some of her things to my sister & me. I got her flatware & my sister got her china. I can’t tell you how excited I was when my sister asked me if I’d like to do a tablescape with Aunt Millie’s china. The flatware & china were reunited. This tablescape brings back so many Memories of our Aunt Millie.
These are Aunt Millie’s pieces of china. They are a light beige with a wheat pattern & silver rim. I used cream colored fringed linen place mats & napkins so it would not interfere with the delicacy of the china. The silver flatware finished it off.
I used the Tea Light Bridge as the centerpiece, set on a beveled mirror place mat. I added Aunt Millie’s crystal pieces around the bridge. I thought the swans under the bridge went well. (you can see some of Aunt Millie’s cross in the reflection of the mirror)
And the tablescape with the centerpiece:
And naturally, I had to light the candles…

I hope you enjoyed my trip down memory lane, honoring my Dear Aunt Millie.
Happy Creating everyone!
