Office Bling

It’s March, and my thoughts are turning towards Spring.  Spring makes me think of opening up the windows & starting my Spring Cleaning.  I’ve made my lists of things that I want to change.  One major area that need an overhaul is the office area.  My desk isn’t as organized as I’d like it to be.  (wow, is that an understatement.)

I was using a flat ‘in/out’ tray for my mail for a while, but it just wasn’t working for me.  Since I’m a visual person, I need to see what needs to be done.  Although the trays are nice, I couldn’t see what was right in front of me.  I found some black metal mail sorters made by Rubbermaid.  I think these will work well for me.  They are nice on their own, but you know me… I need some sparkle to motivate me.  Here’s what I came up with:

Office Bling

I started with the plain black metal mail sorters, and added some Zebra Duck Tape to the fronts.  I put a piece of the Duck tape over the front of the sorter, and used a razor to shape the tape to fit it.  Then I used my label maker to add an ‘in’ & ‘out’ to the front.

Now for some bling!

I used some of my rhinestone Jewels on a Roll to trim the outside of the Duck Taped area.  To fit the width, I used 2 rows of the trim.  I cut out one of the rhinestones for the curved area.

I used E-6000 to adhere the rhinestone trim to the mail sorters.  Because I cut out the rhinestone, bending the trim around the curved area fit perfectly with out any bulges.  Then I used clothes pins to hold the trim in place until the glue dried.

I let it dry over night and removed the clothes pins.

I found the business card holder at the Dollar Tree.  It matched the Rubbermaid mail sorters perfectly.

I think I’m going to enjoy this new desk organization.  I’m especially liking all of the sparkle.

Happy Creating everyone!
