I’m still having a ball working on decorations for the 4th of July! The table is almost ready to be set, the decorative pieces are done for a vignette or two. But the door was naked!
It needed a wreath.
Here’s how I made it:
I started with a grapevine wreath (Walmart)
Offray Ribbon (Walmart)
Bow (Dollar Tree)
2 4″x6″ flags (on hand)
Flowers, in Red, White & Blue (the red & blue flowers were large, and the white flowers were smaller to use as filler.
Silver glitter sprays (they remind me of fireworks)
hot glue gun, glue sticks
Glitter Letters – find instructions here
One Nation Under God Sign – find instructions here
Small piece of floral wire, for hanging
I started by hot gluing the ribbon to the wreath.
Wrap the ribbon around the wreath & hot glue the other end to the beginning of the ribbon. Clip off excess ribbon.
I didn’t like the gold twist ties that were on the bow, so I changed it up with some red ribbon. (not that you can see it, but I know it’s there)
Glue on the bow & flags to one side. I glued them over the ends of the ribbon to conceal them.
Start adding the flowers, large ones first & fill in with the smaller white ones.
I made some silver sparkle sprays for the wreath the same way that I made the ones for the Patriotic Centerpiece. I added them where there were still some bare spots.
Add a loop of wire to the back for hanging.
It was pretty much done at this point. But I wanted more. (no surprise there)
I attached the Patriotic Sign to the wire in the back, with the lettering facing the front of the wreath.
Then I glued on the Glitter Letters to the other side of the wreath.
Now it felt complete. I hope you give this wreath a try. It really is easy to make.
Have a safe holiday. Happy Creating Everyone!
