I love to decorate for Christmas, especially the dinner table. And since the theme in our home this year is Santa, these are perfect.
If you’re looking for an easy way to add some whimsy to your Christmas Table, this might be what you’re looking for.
I started with some plain wooden napkin rings & then painted them with some white acrylic paint.
The other supplies that I used were some long haired white faux fur, red ribbon that was slightly smaller than the napkin rings, 5/8″ wide black ribbon & some buckles that I found in the button section.
The first thing that I did was to mark the back of the fur to the width of the napkin rings, using a pencil.
Then I cut the fur with scissors, but I made sure to only cut the fur backing. If you wiggle the scissors, you can get them tightly to the backing. If you just cut through the fur, you’ll have blunt edges instead of furry edges.
Pull the fur away from the cut piece. (cut enough fur for each napkin ring)
Next, measure the red ribbon to fit around the fur. Cut to fit.
Using a hot glue gun, glue the fur to the napkin ring. Trim off excess length.
When the fur is glued on, it looks like a little fur ball.
Then glue the red ribbon to the center of the fur, making sure the the fur edges are spread out at the sides. I only glued the red ribbon to itself, not the fur.
Next, thread a buckle on to the black ribbon.
Cut the ribbon to fit the center of the red ribbon. Center the buckle, glue in place and it’s done!
I found these Better Homes & Gardens sparkle napkins that will work perfectly with these.
They look hard to make, but they were so easy.
Merry Christmas & Happy Creating everyone!
