Seed Bead Swirls

Christmas is fast approaching.  Here’s an easy ornament that the little ones can help with.

This is such an easy ornament that can be customized to go with any color that you’re using on your tree.

Seed Bead Swirls

Supplies needed, seed beads, 24 Gage wire, accent bead, head pin, wire cutters & jewelry pliers.

Seed Bead Swirls

Cut wire about 6″ to 7″ long.

With the jewelry pliers, make a loop at the end of the wire.

Fill the wire with seed beads in your choice of colors leaving about 3/4″ of wire at the end.

Once most of the wire is filled with the beads, make another loop at the other end.

Wrap the beaded wire around something round.  I used a paint brush.

Pull the brush out & the strand becomes a swirl.

To make the accent bead for the bottom, thread a seed bead, accent bead & another seed bead on to the head pin.

Cut off excess wire & made a loop.  Add the loop onto the end of the swirl by opening the loop slightly, thread it through the swirl loop & then close the accent bead wire loop back up.

Add an ornament hanger to the other end of the swirl & it’s done!

Change the look by using different beads.  Just remember, the larger the bead, the longer the wire must be.

I think I might try these with round beads & a chandelier crystal at the bottom.

Happy Creating everyone!
