I’m sure that the title of this week’s tablescape evokes thoughts of the popular book out there. But when I was putting this tablescape together, I found myself humming the song Shades of Gray by the Monkees. It’s such a pretty melody. If you don’t know the song, you can find it here.
Here is my Shades of Grey tablescape. I hope you like it.
The inspiration for this tablescape started with the china. It’s EMPRESS CHINA – ESSEX. I stayed with the white, grey & silver colors from the china.
I started off with a plain grey tablecloth & then covered it with a white lace tablecloth overlay.
I didn’t want to detract from the china, so I didn’t use a place mat or charger.
I kept is simple with white linen napkins & clear napkin rings. I like the way the flatware goes with the color scheme.
I added my favorite Wexford goblets.
Keeping everything simple, the centerpiece is a silver tea set that I’ve had for more years than I want to admit to. I added a set of Wexford salt & pepper shakers to go with the glassware. Four mercury glass votive holders & some clear iridescent table scatter finished it off.
And I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t light the candles.
And a view from the top:
I hope you were humming the song as you viewed the photos, I know I am.
Happy Creating everyone!
