St. Paddy’s Day Tablescape

St. Patrick’s Day is drawing near.  The wearing of the green is everywhere, including our table.  I’ve been wanting to do a tablescape using some very special pieces for a while now.  Unfortunately, one of the dessert plates have been lost along they way.  I wasn’t about to let that stop me, so I’ve done a tablescape for three.

I hope you enjoy it.

The pieces that inspired this tablescape are called “Shannon, Aran Stone”  and they are made in Ireland.  Hopefully, someday, I’ll get the remaining pieces to this set.

I paired the Shannon dessert plates up with a plain green plate that I thought complemented the green in the Shannon plate.

I kept it very simple so that nothing would detract from the simplicity of the plates, cups & saucers.

No place mats this time.  I thought that the solid green tablecloth was enough.  I added a solid green napkin, with a napkin ring that matched one of the stripes in the set.  The green in the stemware matches the green in the plates.  My Irish Mama’s flatware completed the look that I was going for.

More shades of green were added with the centerpiece.  You might remember the little Irish tin that I got when I went to Pat Catan’s.

The centerpiece was looking a little lonely by itself, so I used  rhinestone shamrocks as table scatter.  I added some crystal candle holders with taper candles in the same shade as the inner ring of the dessert plates.

That’s when the tablescape came together for me.

I love the way the sunlight comes through the stemware.

And I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t light the candles!
