Steeler Tablescape

Are you ready for some football?  The men in my home are most certainly ready.  Today, I surprised them with a Steeler Tablescape!  The Steeler Nation is alive and doing well here in the Pittsburgh area.  Everyone is wearing their Black & Gold again, so why not the table too?

I started off with a black tablecloth & some Steeler Place Mats that I’d made.  Black dinner plates were a natural.  But I wanted some Steeler plates.  I couldn’t find any, anywhere!  So, you know me, if you can’t find what you want, make it yourself.  I had these little clear glass plates that I wanted to use, and when I found these Steeler Clings, everything came together.

Steeler Plates  I cut out the clings around the black edge of the cling, and then misted the back of the plate with water.

Then I put the cling on the water, face down, then gently dried the water off, smoothing out any air bubbles.

Flip the plate over & the Steeler logo shows through.  I love the way it looks.

I made the napkin rings for the black napkins using a small wooden footballs, to which I glued small Steeler logos on that I’d cut from ribbon.  And naturally, football isn’t football without Gatorade!

The centerpiece was made using football shaped Easter eggs & ribbons.

I put a bowl of game watching junk food in the centerpiece:

but I also used a yellow candle for when the junk food is gone.

And of course, I had to light the candle:

This tablescape doesn’t have to be made just for the Steelers.  You can personalize it with colors of your favorite team.  It would work well for College Football, High School Football, or the Pee Wee League.  Can you imagine the look on the face of your “Star Player” when they come home to a dinner set in their team’s colors?

I hope you’ve enjoyed my Steeler Tablescape as much as the men in my household have.

Happy Creating everyone!
