20 Wednesdays till Christmas Ornament Series ~Week 18

Welcome to Week 18 of the 20 Wednesdays till Christmas Ornament Series.

Today, I took a plain baby blue glass ornament that I got from Walmart & turned it into a beautiful beaded ornament.

By adding some Mod Podge, I was able to add things like seed beads, rhinestone mesh, clear pearl strands & aurora borealis crystals, to turn these plain ornaments into ornaments that look like upscale ornaments.

Hard to believe that this:

Washi Tape Christmas Ornament

Christmas is only three weeks away!  Oh my goodness, where has the time gone?  I love Christmas.  It’s my favorite time of the year.  I love decorating for it, making gifts for it, watching all of the Christmas movies that are on & listening to my favorite Christmas songs.  And what have I been up to since I’m in the Christmas mood?

I’ve been making some new ornaments again (so what else is new?)  This one is so simple to make.  If you have a white matte glass ornament, some silver sequins, glitter Washi tape & some glue, you can make these by the dozens.

Atomic Mirror Ornament

We’re only a few weeks away from Christmas, so I decided to get a head start on some new Christmas ornaments.  The first ornament for this season is actually a trial for a much larger project.  I wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but I’m actually quite pleased.  It was easier to make than I thought it would be.

This is my Atomic Mirror Ornament.

Brown Christmas Wreath

Another Christmas has come and gone.  Most of the gifts have been exchanged.  (Although there are a few gifts that still need exchanged.  Being sick over the holidays is no fun.)

This wreath was made for a friend who loves the color brown.  I couldn’t post this earlier, because the recipient of this wreath reads my page, and she’d have known what she was getting before she got it.

Christmas Cross

I can’t believe that Christmas is only 10 days away.  Time is flying by, and I’m not nearly ready for it.  I’m still trying to get the decorating done, and there are still a few more gifts to get and make and wrap.  Is anyone else in the same boat that I’m in?

The Christmas season bring so much creativity to me.  I often find myself working on projects at 4:00 in the morning. This is one of those projects that I finished in a couple of hours.  It’s a quick and easy Christmas craft that can be customized depending on the fabric & paint that you choose.  It’s also a project that the little ones can do.

Christmas Tissue Box – Part 2 of 3

This is the second part of my Christmas Tissue Box post.  Painting the Evergreens.

This is to show you how I paint little Evergreen trees.  (Remember, I’m no artist)  There are several ways that I do them & I’ll show you how.  These are easier to paint than you might think.  This is along the lines of folk art & they are never perfect. (Nothing in nature is perfect)  These are meant to be fun, & if you mess it up, it’s just paint, paint over it and start over again.

Christmas Tissue Box – Part 1 of 3

I have been asked so many times, how do I paint a sky with clouds?

I’m not an artist by any means, (My Mama was the artist in the family), although sometimes my work can look a little like a Picasso.  What I do is more on the lines of folk art.  I have fun with it & so can you.

The first part is how I paint a sky & clouds.  The second part will be several ways to paint evergreen trees.  The third part will be adding snowmen to your winter scene.

It’s easy to do, and if it doesn’t look the way you want it to, hey, it’s only paint.  You can always paint over it.  This is how I painted a plain wooden tissue box for Christmas.
