Washi Tape Christmas Ornament

Christmas is only three weeks away!  Oh my goodness, where has the time gone?  I love Christmas.  It’s my favorite time of the year.  I love decorating for it, making gifts for it, watching all of the Christmas movies that are on & listening to my favorite Christmas songs.  And what have I been up to since I’m in the Christmas mood?

I’ve been making some new ornaments again (so what else is new?)  This one is so simple to make.  If you have a white matte glass ornament, some silver sequins, glitter Washi tape & some glue, you can make these by the dozens.

Start off with some glass matte ornament balls  & some glitter Washi Tape.

Measure from the top of the ornament to the bottom.  Cut 4 pieces of Washi tape to fit those dimensions.

Place a piece of the Washi tape on either side of the ornament.  Press it on firmly.

Repeat the steps above between the 2 pieces of Washi tape that you’ve just put on.

Next, you’ll need some sequins, a toothpick & some tacky glue.

Using the toothpick to apply the glue, add some dots of glue in-between the Washi tape where you want the sequins to go.  Press the sequins on to the dots of glue until the glue pokes up through the hole in the sequin.  This anchors the sequins in place.

(Don’t worry about it looking white, the glue dries clear)

Hang them to dry.

After the glue has dried (it will be clear) they’re done and ready to hang on your tree!

You can make these ornaments in any color that goes with your Christmas theme.  Just change the color of the glass balls & sequins.

They’d also make nice gifts for teachers.

Happy Creating everyone!
