The 4th of July is right around the corner. It’s one of my favorite holidays to decorate for. I still get chills when I look at our flag with it’s stars & stripes waving in the breeze. And there is something so special about the red, white & blue that gives the feeling of celebration.
Here is this year’s 4th of July Tablescape.
I started with some striped fabric that I found last year. By itself, it’s dizzying, and you should have seen the look on my husband’s face when I brought it home. He must have thought I was nuts. But I’d also gotten some star fabric that I knew would break it up. All I could say was, “trust me, I have a plan”.
I made table runners from the star fabric. Once it was on top of that striped fabric, it started to come together.
I love the way clear dishware looks when the sun shines through it, so I started with a clear red round plate. Then I layered a white plate, a star plate & a red bowl on top. I love the way the star plates show through the red bowl. Clear red glasses & flatware kept with the red feeling I was going for.
The blue & white star napkins complemented the table runners & were held by red, white & blue napkin rings. To see how I made them, go here.
The centerpiece was kept simple because I felt that the tablescape was getting a bit busy.

And I had to light the candle!
I even had to decorate the little lamp that sits in the corner.
I hope you enjoyed this year’s 4th of July Tablescape.
Have a safe holiday. And Happy Birthday America!
Happy Creating everyone.
