There are so many things that June is associated with! Father’s day, graduations, the beginning Summer and weddings.
I made these earrings for a very dear friend of mine, who’s daughter was going to be her flower girl. The earrings couldn’t be white pearls because they would clash with the bride’s cream colored dress and I wanted the earrings for the flower girl to tie in with the bride’s earrings.
This is what I came up with:
For the Bride’s earrings, I used:
2 silver head pins
2 – 4 mm. aurora borealis bicone crystals
2 cream colored teardrop pearls
2 textured cream colored round pearls
2 silver jump rings
2 silver earring posts with silver earring backs
You’ll also need jewelry pliers
Putting them together was easy. I slid the teardrop pearls, crystals & round pearls on to the head pin. Then I bent the excess metal from the head pin to a right angle, cut off the excess & using the jewelry pliers, I made a loop at the top.
To add the posts
I opened the jump ring & put both the earring & earring post on to the jump ring. (always twist the jump ring, don’t pull) When both parts are on the jump ring, twist it back into place.
Repeat with the other one & the Bride’s Earring set is complete.
To see how I made the gift box, the full tutorial can be found here.
The earrings for Flower Girl had to be simple because she is so young, but I wanted them to have something that matched the Bride’s set.
Here’s what I chose & what I used to make them:
2 – silver head pins
2 – 4 mm. aura borealis bicone crystals (the same as the Bride’s)
2 – silver earring posts
2 – plastic earring backs (I wanted the backs to be soft for her)
I made the earrings the same way that I made the bride’s earrings.
Cut off excess & form into a loop.
Open a jump ring.
Add the earring & the earring post to the jump ring.
Close the jump ring.
The finished Flower Girl earrings.
Repeat for the second one & the Flower Girl earrings are done.
Easy to make, and will be cherished for a lifetime.
Happy Creating everyone!
