People have asked me why I use so many lemons when I decorate. The answer is simple, I use them, a lot. I make homemade lemonade on a regular basis. The recipe is simple, three ingredients, and it always seems to turn out just right.
Lemonade Recipe:
1 1/2 cups of Splenda or Sugar
1 cup of hot water (I usually use the tea pot, and have a cup of tea while I’m at it 😉 )
8 cups of cold water (I use ice water from the fridge)
2# bag of lemons (approximately 8 large lemons) (1 1/2 cups of juice)
Squeeze the juice from the lemons until you have 12 oz. of juice. (I love my Black & Decker Juicer)
Put 1 cup of hot water into the pitcher & add the sugar or Splenda to it. Stir until dissolved. (using hot water makes the sugar or Splenda dissolve quickly)
Add the 8 cups of cold water & the 12 oz. of lemon juice to the sugar water.
Slice a lemon, thinly, remove seeds & float on top.
Stir & chill. It’s so good, and like I said, so easy.
Happy Creating everyone!
