I have a watch that’s one of my favorites. I love the way it feels when I wear it. But it’s recently lost a very important piece of the band. It’s called a ‘Free Loop‘ or ‘Free Ring‘. I tried to find a replacement for the missing piece, and from what I understand, they don’t sell it. The only alternative would be to buy a new band. Unfortunately, I can’t find a band in white that fits the watch. So, I did what I usually do when faced with a problem… I made my own Watch Band Quick Fix.
This is the piece that I’m missing:
The watch doesn’t exactly work the way it should when the piece is missing.
As you can see when I put the watch on:
I needed something to hold the end of the band down. Then I thought about Goody Clear Hair Bands.
They come in 3 sizes and since they are clear, you don’t see them unless you look closely. I used two of the smallest sized hair bands on the buckle end of the watch band.
Now, when I put the watch on, it works like it should.
And since I had the hair bands on hand, it cost me nothing to fix one of my favorite watches.
I hope this helps you save one of your watches. I’m so glad to be able to wear mine again. And if I find a new watch band that fits my watch, maybe I might buy one. Maybe I don’t need to?
Happy Creating everyone!
