For those of you that haven’t seen these, I thought I’d share them with you. They’re called Water Gems or Aqua Beads. (We’ll be playing with them a little later on)
They start off very tiny when they are in their dry state. And they come in a variety of colors to go with your home.
You can get them almost anywhere. Michaels, JoAnn Fabrics, Walmart, Pat Catans….
Here they are in their dry form:
To make them plump up, you need water, and something to put it in.
I started off with 1 teaspoon of the Water Gems. (see how tiny they are?)
Then I put them into a tall Vase.
Then I added 2 cups of water to the dry Water Gems in the vase.
I did this before I went to work. When I got home from work, I found this:
When I drained off the water, this is what it looked like:
Pretty cool, huh? They feel almost rubbery & slippery at the same time. I guess they feel like slippery, squishy super balls.
And what do you do with them? You use them, in place of or with water for fresh flowers. The best part of it is that they will help to keep your blooms upright, besides making your floral arrangements look so good. Rinse them off in-between arrangements & you can reuse them. They also need to be watered to keep them plump or they’ll dry out & get pretty small again.
They’d also amaze the little ones in your life. Can you imagine how big their eyes would get when they water them before they go to bed & see how big they’ve grown when they wake up?
Happy Creating everyone!
