Yesterday, I spent the day shopping. Usually, I detest shopping & try to do this as little as possible. I’m the type of person who makes a detailed itinerary of the places I have to go, in the shortest amount of time for it to take. I make lists & gather my coupons for each store, and then I can’t wait to get in and get out. But yesterday was different. I’ve been wanting to go to the new Pat Catan’s Craft Store. It’s located in the Mt. Nebo Pointe Plaza which is about a 45 minute drive from my house, if traffic is cooperating. But I’ve been wanting to go to this store for months. I couldn’t wait for it to open! When I got there, I was totally overwhelmed. It’s amazing, and to be honest, there were times when it took my breath away. Western Pennsylvania, you’re in for a treat!
It was a long drive on a scorcher of a day. We are experiencing an awful heat wave here in “The Burgh”. But the trip was well worth it. I started to feel a little excitement when I saw the sign, telling me that I was going the right way!
The anticipation grew when I parked the car & saw the sign on the building. It’s a Big Store!
When I walked in, there was the sweetest girl to greet me. She explained the way they put the pricing on the tags. Told me that if I had any questions, she’d be happy to help & gave me the flyer. It took me 4 pictures to get all of the front of the store! Did I mention that it’s a Big Store?
There were aisles of wood, which is one of my favorite crafting items:
Wooden shelves, and wooden miniatures
Wooden Birdhouses & an entire aisle of wooden letters:
They had an entire section of slate:
And the there were the baskets… tons of baskets in so many shapes, sizes & colors
There were rows of mirrors and flat backed marble scatter & more miniatures!
They had their Fall & Halloween decorating supplies up
And in the floral department, they had the cutest Ghost. They told me how to make it & this project is most definitely in my future!
And they had some of the Christmas items in
They had an entire aisle of glues (be still my heart)
They were still putting up the jewelry making sections. I couldn’t believe that they had an entire section for just jewelry displays! I’m seriously considering the mirrored display for the bedroom or living room.
And then there was the home dec section! Pillows, Vases, Candles, Lighting, Stools….
There was an entire aisle of Lanterns!
And Wall Hangings! Can you tell which ones I’m considering?
The battery on my camera was starting to wear out, so I didn’t get pictures of all of the kid’s crafts, scrap book supplies, beads, art supply section, wedding section… oh I could go on forever.
Like I said, it was overwhelming.
My Haul?
A roll of Floral Mesh to make the Ghost, and an Arch that’s going in my little rose garden.
Tear drop shaped corsage pins & sequin pins, memory wire, angel wings, a wooden candle cup with the brass inserts needed for the candles. Some votive candle holder inserts for arrangements, and little terra cotta pots
Krylon Copper Spray Paint, Styrofoam stars, iridescent lace trim, another crystal to hang from my window, clear plastic shoes, and a wonderful array of ribbon roses.
Looks like I have plenty of supplies for all of the Christmas Ornaments that I want to make!
And I finally found the ‘believe’ sign that I’ve been searching for.
The prices were unbelievable. The selection is amazing. I can’t wait to see it when they have all of their stock in!
And Christmas is right around the corner… ahem
If you live in the Western Pennsylvania area, I highly recommend taking a trip there. It will be well worth your time.
Thanks for joining me while I took My Trip to Pat Catan’s and my little section of paradise!
Happy Creating everyone!
