Schwarzkopf vs. L’Oreal Hair Dye Review

Oh coupons… you can be good and bad.  I got a very large coupon for the new hair dye by Schwarzkopf.  I usually use L’Oreal hair dyes, but since the coupon was so large, I decided to give it a try.

This is my personal review and opinion of Schwarzkopf hair dye compared to L’Oreal.

The instructions for the Schwarzkopf hair dye were easy to read & was easy to use.  I applied it according to the package directions.

About 5 minutes after I’d put it on my hair, my scalp began to itch.  At first it was just a little bit, but the longer it sat on my hair the more I began to itch.  I couldn’t wait to get it off of my head.  It didn’t burn the scalp, and my scalp was fine after the hair dye was washed out, but I couldn’t stand the feeling while it was on.

When my hair was dried & styled, I thought that the color was darker than what I thought it would be, and it was a lot redder than I like.  Since I’d chosen the ‘cool’ brown, I didn’t expect that much red at all

I’m sorry, Schwarzkopf, but I don’t think I’ll be buying you again.

This is my usual shade.  It’s a light brown that gives me subtle copper highlights.

And one of the best things about L’Oreal is their Gold Rewards program.  You find the code on the bottle.  Go to the L’Oreal Gold Rewards program online to set up your account & type in the code.

I think I’ll be sticking with the L’Oreal.
