The only time that I usually go shopping is on payday, That’s once every other week. I actually don’t like to go shopping. The crowds drive me nuts, the traffic is always congested, and I’m usually in a hurry. Beside, I don’t spend money when I stay home. (ahem) But this day, I needed a couple things, so off I went.
First stop, JoAnn Fabrics. Oh, I have to be careful when I go there. I could browse that store for hours. I’ve been very careful not to go insane because of my love of fabrics, but I needed some for a special order. And JoAnn fabrics has gotten in some NHL fabric! (and I couldn’t resist the NFL fabric either. Pittsburgh does have its fans.
I also needed a shade of blue paint that I was out of. I knew that JoAnn’s carried the brand I needed. And I’m working on some copper projects, so the copper glitter fit the bill.
While I was walking around the store, I couldn’t believe that I found a curtain rod that I’ve been searching for! It’s a plain curtain rod, but it has a 5″ return! I know exactly what I’m going to do with this! (can you tell how excited I am?)
The next stop was to the Dollar Tree. I was almost out of their scrubbies. I love these. And the best part is that I cut them in half to fit the palm of my hand, so I have twice as many.
Then I found some miniature stickers. They’re perfect for my planner. And I think that 832 stickers will last me for awhile.
I also grabbed some notebook paper since I was out. I really should have waited till Walmart got theirs in, because I would have saved 25 cents, but, like I said, I was in a hurry.
Then, while there, I did what I know I shouldn’t do. I went into the dish aisle. I fell in love with these plates. By now, you know I have a ‘thing’ for black, grey & white. I couldn’t resist these. I don’t know if I’ll go back for the bowls & cups, since I have so much black, white & clear to go with them. I just don’t know which way I like them better.
And for the final purchase at the Dollar Tree… Wise Cheese Doodles. This is the only store that keeps them on hand, and they’re my sweetie’s favorites. I always stock up on them when I’m there.
On the way home, I stopped by the Goodwill. I really wasn’t expecting to find anything. What I did find was a lovely set of white napkins.
A set of shell salt & pepper shakers for 99 cents. They were so cute.
And on my way out, I saw this:
This is the same night light that my Aunt Millie had gotten for my son when he was first born. Unfortunately, it had gotten broken when we moved. I just had to have it! And I can’t believe the price!
It was in perfect condition!
Here it is lit up:
So much for my shopping haul. I’m very pleased with what I got.
So, what treasures have you found lately?
Happy Creating everyone!
