Mardi Gras has come and gone, and it’s time to set my sites on one of my favorite holidays, St. Patrick’s Day! St. Patrick’s Day seems to trigger a lot of things for me. It tells me that Spring is just around the corner, and soon we’ll be seeing green outside instead of so much white.
Luckily, this year, St. Pat’s Day is on a Monday & I’ll be able to serve the traditional Corned Beef & Cabbage. So I’ve been playing around with different tablescape ideas for that special meal. Here’s the first idea:
I started the tablescape with a white lace tablecloth over a white cotton one. Then I added the place mats that I made last year. (for instructions for making the reversible place mats, you can find it here) Because I wanted the pattern of the place mats to show through, I used clear dishes. Plain green napkins with clear napkin rings were added to compliment the dishes. The mugs & candle holders are from my Pat Catan’s Haul. The clear glasses with the green bottoms seemed to be almost made for this tablescape.
The centerpiece holds my new ornaments & they’re flanked by 2 sweet little leprechauns. Green glass scatter was added to the pot & scattered around the centerpiece.
A view from the top:
And I can’t have a tablescape without lighting the candles.
Happy St. Patrick’s Day everyone!
