Yellow Tablescape

Lately I’ve been obsessed with the color Lemon Yellow.  It all started with my Easter gift from my husband.  He gave me a small rosebush that was wrapped in yellow paper. (he knows me so well)

And the Forsythia bushes that my sister had given me years ago, are in bloom right now.

Yes, I’m seeing yellow every where.  So naturally, I had to create a yellow tablescape.  It turned out so nicely.  (even got a compliment from my son!)

I started with a solid white tablecloth as an underlay & then covered it with a white lace tablecloth.  Then I added yellow reversible placemats (tutorial coming soon)  & yellow linen napkins. The Forsythia was placed in a large glass vase.

Here’s a close up of the place setting.  (it’s also the best picture of the actual color of the yellow that was used)  I used pearl napkin rings to keep with the softness of the color scheme.  (tutorial for the napkin rings coming soon)

I used Wexford Glass water goblets and set them on crystal coasters:

The room is so full of sunshine!  There’s a happy feeling about the color yellow.  I’ve heard it referred to as a ‘mood lifter’, and it certainly did lift my mood!

I put lemon scented tea lights in my tiny Wexford Glass Demitasse Goblets.  I love smelling the lemon from those tea lights while eating at a lemon colored tablescape.

And what if you don’t have access to Forsythia to use as a centerpiece?  Or are the Forsythia out of season?   How about using lemons?

I removed the vase of Forsythia & replaced it with a crystal bowl & filled it with lemons.  Then I removed the demitasse goblets & replaced them with tapers

I used crystal candle holders and 12″ taper candles to balance out the crystal bowl of lemons.

This was an easy tablescape to make.  It is all white, yellow & clear glassware.  Simple enough.  I hope you enjoyed my newest obsession with lemon yellow.  I had a good time working on it and I hope I’ve inspired you to try your hand at a yellow tablescape.

Happy Creating!
