I needed a new centerpiece for an upcoming tablescape, but couldn’t find anything that I really liked. As a crafter, the solution was very easy… make it myself.

Today, I’ll show you how to turn a plain glass Dollar Tree vase into a Snow Leopard Vase using only paint. It’s easier than you might think.
Continue readingBunny Pillow
I was looking online for some pillows for Easter decorating for my home. I wanted something simple. I found this little pillow at Target, but felt that the price was a little high.
I was pretty sure that I could make something very similar for a lot less money than $18.99!
I got some materials from the Dollar Tree & Walmart & this is what I came up with.
I used some fabric from the automotive section of the Dollar Tree as well as a Bunny Ear headband. I stuffed the little pillow with the stuffing from a Walmart standard sized pillow. Needless to say, the Grand-baby loves it!

Ugly Duckling Challenge
This was a different kind of challenge for me. We were asked to take something from a thrift store, that we normally wouldn’t put in our homes, and give it new life.
I think I did just that!

Painted Flatware
By now you know me well enough to know that if I don’t have what I need, I make it. I wanted some copper colored flatware for a Fall tablescape. I couldn’t believe how expensive it was! $54.00? I don’t think so… I made mine for $2.64.
I found some plain silver flatware at Walmart. They had 4 packs for $.88 each so I got a pack of knives, spoons & forks. I washed & dried them, but in hind site, I should have used an S.O.S. pad to roughen up the surface. Live & learn.
Then using painter’s tape, I taped off everything that I didn’t want painted. I used 2 coats of metallic copper paint & 2 coats of Krylon’s Triple Thick clear glaze on both sides.
I love the way they turned out, and it was just what my tablescape needed.
Let me know what you think!

Live, Laugh, Love – Wall Hanging
It’s no secret how much I love my ‘bling’. I just can’t seem to get enough of it. When I wanted to add a new wall hanging for my hallway, this project seemed to be perfect.
Framed Wrought Iron Cross
I’ve had and loved this wrought iron cross for years & it hung in our home in a prominent place. I always wished that it had more of a visual impact, which I felt it deserved. After adding a frame to the cross, it’s now a focal point. I love it even more.
Bathroom Corner Shelf Re-Do
I don’t know if I’m frugal, cheap or just hate throwing things away that can be saved. I’m stubborn Irish, so I guess it’s more of the latter. This Summer, I’ve been doing a lot of little repairs around the house while the weather has been nice. This is one of those projects.
