Painting Napkins

I was given some plain medium colored brown napkins, that I really didn’t like.  They’ve been sitting in my napkin drawer for about a year now.  Brown is not one of my favorite colors, but they do go well with Fall.  What to do with them?  I made my own stencil, added some paint & turned them into some Fall napkins.  Once you know how to make a stencil, you can decorate anything.  This would be a good way to change up plain pillows, place-mats, towels or even a plain sweatshirt.

Here’s how I did it and you can too!

Pumpkin Topiary

Thanks to my latest Fall Decor Haul, I’ve been able to work on a few new projects.  I wanted something to go in the little corner of my dining area & this little Pumpkin Topiary was perfect.  It’s easy to make, and since everything except the flower pot came from the Dollar Tree, it was very inexpensive.

Happy Fall Wall Hanging

It’s that time of the year again.  Season’s changing, holidays are coming fast & once again, I’m a little behind on decorating.  I’ve seen so many new decorations in the stores for the Fall, but the prices are outrageous.  Since I have a tendency to be a little frugal, I started my fall decorations by making my own.

Here’s the first Fall decoration for this year.  It’s easy to make, inexpensive & can be customized to go with any color theme you want.

Happy Fall everyone!

Fall Lantern Tutorial

When I put together my Fall Tablescape-3 Ways, the first tablescape had a Fall Lantern as the centerpiece.  It is easy to make & can be easily removed after the season has changed.  The same principal can be used for the upcoming Christmas season, simply by changing the ribbon and florals.

Here’s how I changed a plain lantern into a Fall lantern.

Harvest Angel Tutorial

I’ve wanted to make a Harvest Angel for a long time.  Now that October is here, it seemed like the right time to do it.  This is a step by step tutorial of how I made her.

I’ll forewarn you, this is a long one because it’s loaded with pictures.

An Autumn Tablescape

I’m not sure what made this tablescape come together for me.  It started with the Dollar Tree Fall Centerpiece.  I knew I wanted the colors of fall, but not the bright jewel tones that burst on to the scene in the coming months. And I wanted to incorporate the copper color from the centerpiece.

I guess it all came together because of one of the most generous gifts I’ve gotten in a very long time.  A very special gift from my Mother-In-Law.

Dollar Tree Fall Centerpiece

Since the temperatures have been in the 40’s at night here in Western Pennsylvania, and I’m starting to see the leaves turning to the bright & beautiful shades of Autumn, I have to give in to the fact that Summer is over.  Fall isn’t in its full colorful glory yet, but it’s just around the corner.  Yes, I’m finally facing the fact that it’s Fall.

This is my first Fall home decor item for the season.  Most of the items for this project are from the Dollar Tree, with a very few exceptions.  And it’s so easy to put together.  Just because the items were bought at the Dollar Tree, doesn’t mean it has to look like it.  And tomorrow, I’ll be using it in a Fall Tablescape.
