It’s football season. Here in the Steeler Nation, it’s a big deal. You see it everywhere. Everyone is wearing their team’s colors. It’s only September, and there is a sea of black & gold as far as the eye can see. And I’m sure, if you’re a football fan, you’ve got the television tuned in and everyone is watching. Decorating for that special day in your home is easy. You may remember this centerpiece from the Steeler Tablescape. I thought you might like to know how I made it. This can be made in any color combination, to go with your team’s colors.

Aqua & Iris Tablescape
It still feels like summer here in Western Pennsylvania. I’m just not feeling ‘Fall’ yet, even though it’s only a couple of weeks away. Today’s tablescape was inspired by the lovely dinner plates. I love the shades of Aqua, and the Iris in pink, purple & yellow make what could have been a plain plate, so very pretty.
Lace Vases
You might remember when I did the Lacy Table. I’m at it again, but this time I’ve painted vases. They have a delicate, feminine, Shabby Chic look to them. I’m using it as a centerpiece, but it would be perfect in a bedroom too.
I painted them the same way that I did the table, and this time I experimented a bit, too.
Rope Centerpiece
I don’t know if being a crafter is frugal or not, but if I can reuse an item & make it into something else that’s not only useful but pretty, I’m going to do it.
I eat way too many nuts. I love Great Value Deluxe Mixed Nuts, mainly because there are no peanuts in it & it’s salted just the way I like them. So, needless to say, I always have empty cans left over. What did I do with them this time? I made a centerpiece!
And this is how I made it:

Table Garland Centerpiece – Tutorial
Ever wonder how they make those table garlands that you see on tables at restaurants or at weddings? I’m going to show you just how easy they are to make. And I’m going to show you how to make it very inexpensively! This Table Garland Centerpiece is not only very romantic, but just a little bit Shabby Chic. But, by changing the flowers & candle color, you can make it fit into any decor.
Water Gems
For those of you that haven’t seen these, I thought I’d share them with you. They’re called Water Gems or Aqua Beads. (We’ll be playing with them a little later on)
They start off very tiny when they are in their dry state. And they come in a variety of colors to go with your home.
Shabby Chic Fruit Bowl
When you’re a crafter & people know it, they sometimes give you things thinking that you can do something with it. This project started with a friend giving me a pair of gold & glass cherub lamps that someone had given her. She thought of me because I’m always creating something. I’m going to get 2 or 3 projects from this pair of lamps. Here’s my first one:
Turquoise Tablescape
I’m still longing for the beach. (maybe next year) I guess that’s why beach related things keep showing up in my posts.
Patriotic Centerpiece – tutorial
Independence Day is just around the corner, so I’ve made a centerpiece that I’d like to share with you.
It’s easy to make. Here’s what you’ll need:
