Happy Independence Day Everyone!
Today is the 4th of July! A day to celebrate, and since I love to decorate for the holidays, today was no exception.
I found this little guy at Michaels, on a clearance for only $2.99! He was so cute, but as you know by now, I can’t leave well enough alone. I always have to make it ‘my own’.
I had a lot of fun with this one. I’ve been playing with decorations for the 4th of July, and the thought of decorated candles come naturally to me. (I guess it’s because I love the look and feel of candlelight).
As usual, it’s an incredibly easy project to do.
Decorating for the holidays is always so much fun for me. It’s an easy way to redecorate without spending a small fortune. I still can’t get over how a change in a tablecloth, place mats, & a centerpiece can make the dining area look completely different. The 4th of July is a fun tablescape to do because it’s filled with bright colors & sparkle! This year, I really wanted to emphasize the color red.
I’m still having a ball working on decorations for the 4th of July! The table is almost ready to be set, the decorative pieces are done for a vignette or two. But the door was naked!
It needed a wreath.
Here’s how I made it:
The 4th of July is right around the corner, and it’s really put me in the crafting mood. I’ve been in a crafting frenzy lately. (you know it’s bad when you realize it’s 5:00 in the morning & your glue gun is still smoking) I started my frenzy with a patriotic sign that could be hung on a wall, door, or as you will eventually see, a wreath.
This frenzy started with gift cards that I got for my birthday. (everyone knows that they can never go wrong with a gift card to a craft store) I started at Joanne Fabrics, they were having a 70% off sale, and then to Michaels (they had their 4th decorations on a clearance already!)
Independence Day is just around the corner, so I’ve made a centerpiece that I’d like to share with you.
It’s easy to make. Here’s what you’ll need:
A Terra-cotta Chime, just in time for Armed Forces Day & Memorial Day.
It’s hard to explain what triggers a creative idea for me. Something just clicks, and I’m off! This little outdoor chime was inspired by a walk through Michaels. I saw these plastic mirror stars and my mind started racing.
