Saving a Turn Table (Lazy Susan)

I’ve had this Rubbermaid Turn Table sitting in my cabinet for years.  It’s seen better days, to be sure.  It was a beige color that was stained with food coloring.  I wanted to use it in my Sewing/Craft Room, so it needed a face lift.  And a face lift is what it got!

A Lacy Table

I’ve had a little brass & glass table since the 80’s.  It’s one of those pieces that is small enough to be used almost anywhere.  I’ve used it in the den, the bedroom, the bathroom & even outside.  When I first got it, it was brass. Since then it has been brass, black, charcoal, white & silver.  It needed a little makeover.  But this time, instead of just painting the legs, I did something a little different.

Water Gems

For those of you that haven’t seen these, I thought I’d share them with you.  They’re called Water Gems or Aqua Beads. (We’ll be playing with them a little later on)

Water Gems Before & After

They start off very tiny when they are in their dry state.  And they come in a variety of colors to go with your home.

White & Crystal Tablescape

Cuisine Kathleen of “Let’s Dish” has give a challenge, so I’m giving it a go. The theme is: Let There Be White Party 3.  The rules?  The table has to use WHITE DISHES and only one other color as an accent.  Flatware can be silver or white, or your accent color.  Clear glasses or your accent color. I thought I’d go with white & crystal with mirrors as the accents.

This one was going to be fun for me, since I love white, mirrors & crystal.

Decorating a Votive Candle Holder

Decorating Votive Candle Holders is very easy.  Some of them when finished, can be very expensive.  I’ll show you how to make 4 of them for very little money.  They can be customized to go with what ever you need them for.  Decorating, Weddings, Parties, Gifts…

Shabby Chic Fruit Bowl

When you’re a crafter & people know it, they sometimes give you things thinking that you can do something with it.  This project started with a friend giving me a pair of gold & glass cherub lamps that someone had given her.  She thought of me because I’m always creating something.  I’m going to get 2 or 3 projects from this pair of lamps.  Here’s my first one:

Corner Booth Makeover

When we first moved into our home, we bought this corner booth.  I wanted it not only for the seating, but for the extra storage that was built into the seats.  But I don’t like browns, not the color or in wood tones.   And for years, I would look at this booth & cringe.

By now, you know the way I think.  If you like the piece, but the color doesn’t go with your home…. paint it!  So I did.

Patriotic Decorated Candles

I had a lot of fun with this one.   I’ve been playing with decorations for the 4th of July, and the thought of decorated candles come naturally to me.  (I guess it’s because I love the look and feel of candlelight).

As usual, it’s an incredibly easy project to do.

4th of July Tablescape

Decorating for the holidays is always so much fun for me.  It’s an easy way to redecorate without spending a small fortune.  I still can’t get over how a change in a tablecloth, place mats, & a centerpiece can make the dining area look completely different.  The 4th of July is a fun tablescape to do because it’s filled with bright colors & sparkle!  This year, I really wanted to emphasize the color red.
