Dry Brushing Frames – tutorial

Dry Brushing Frames… it’s easy to do!

Dry Brushing Frames Finished

I’ve had these little frames for more years that I care to admit to.  I do remember getting them on a clearance for a quarter each.  But when I got them home, I couldn’t find a picture small enough to put into them.  So they went in a bag until I figured out what to do with them. It’s hard to believe that the frames in the bottom picture are the same frames as in the above picture.

Decorating a Votive Candle Holder

Decorating Votive Candle Holders is very easy.  Some of them when finished, can be very expensive.  I’ll show you how to make 4 of them for very little money.  They can be customized to go with what ever you need them for.  Decorating, Weddings, Parties, Gifts…

Patriotic Decorated Candles

I had a lot of fun with this one.   I’ve been playing with decorations for the 4th of July, and the thought of decorated candles come naturally to me.  (I guess it’s because I love the look and feel of candlelight).

As usual, it’s an incredibly easy project to do.

Adding Glitter to Wooden Letters – tutorial

By now, you know how much I love the sparkle of glitter.  Adding glitter to ‘things’ is easy. I’ve seen glittered letters selling for a small fortune, ($7 – $10 each) and it’s so inexpensive to do it yourself.

I’m still immersed in the patriotic theme, so I wanted to make some letters sparkle for another project that I’m working on.  Here’s what I’m up to today!

Patriotic Hanging Sign

The 4th of July is right around the corner, and it’s really put me in the crafting mood.  I’ve been in a crafting frenzy lately.  (you know it’s bad when you realize it’s 5:00 in the morning & your glue gun is still smoking)  I started my frenzy with a patriotic sign that could be hung on a wall, door, or as you will eventually see, a wreath.

Hanging Sign.

This frenzy started with gift cards that I got for my birthday.  (everyone knows that they can never go wrong with a gift card to a craft store)  I started at Joanne Fabrics, they were having a 70% off sale, and then to Michaels (they had their 4th decorations on a clearance already!)

Diy Pin Cushions – tutorial

Pin cushions are a must in any sewing room.  They can be very expensive if bought in a conventional store.  But they’re very easy to make yourself.  And when you make your own, you can customize them to the way you like them.  They can be as fancy or streamlined as you choose.  Shabby Chic, floral, animal prints, plain, it’s up to you!  That’s the beauty of making your own.

Father’s Day Photo Centerpiece-tutorial

Father’s Day is just around the corner.  I’ll be doing one of my usual tablescapes.  But I needed a centerpiece for it.  I could have put flowers on the table, but I thought that was too girly for a man.  I could have used a cake as a centerpiece, but that idea bored me.  I needed something special for a man who is not only the glue that holds this family together, but a wonderful father. It had to be unique.  Then the light bulb went off in my head.  And by now, you know that when I get an idea in my head, I’ll find a way to make it work. This is the idea that I came up with:

candle lit.

And this is how I did it:

Lighthouse Napkin Holders

I found these little lighthouses at the Dollar Tree.

They are adorable, but they don’t exactly match my plates.

Sea Shell Centerpiece – tutorial

Since I have so many shells that I was collecting for my Playing in the Sand post, I thought I’d use them for yet another project. This time I decided to try a Sea Shell Wreath shape for my centerpiece.  I like the way it turned out.
