This is a very easy tutorial for turning a glass Christmas candle into a St. Patrick’s Day decoration. You need very little supplies to make this, it’s inexpensive & will brighten any area that you place it.

Beaded Tea Light Holder
I have spent countless hours & two days to make this Beaded Tea Light Holder, but I think it was worth it. You won’t believe what it looked like before I started!
This is how I did it.
Painting Tea Lights
There are times when I’m putting a tablescape together, and I can’t find the color tea lights that I need.
It’s something that drives me absolutely nuts. I always have candles on my table. I love what the candle light does to the ‘feeling’ of a table. But I can’t handle plain white when I need color! Since I already paint candles to match my color scheme, I figured I’d try it with some tea lights. It worked beautifully!
Here are some that I did to go with my Mardi Gras Tablescape.
Painting Candles
While I was putting together the ‘A Tablescape for Ryleigh‘, it dawned on me that I’ve never done a DIY post on how to paint candles. I’ve put it into other posts, (like the Orange & White Tablescape) but never one dedicated on how I do it.
I paint candles a lot so they will go with the project I’m working on. You can’t always find the color you want, but you can always find the acrylic paint color you’re looking for. And sometimes you don’t have the time to go out and shop for new. The hardest part of painting candles is waiting for the paint to dry.
Here’s how I did it:
Beaded Candles -Tutorial
Well, Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow, so I guess we won’t be seeing Spring until sometime around St. Paddy’s Day. 🙁 To brighten things up, I thought I’d add more color around our home. I’m decorating candles again. I’ve decorated candles before, but these are a little different. And since Valentine’s Day is right around the corner, red is a natural. These Beaded Candles are easy to make and can be done using any color that you want.
Here’s how I made them.
Owl Inspired Fall Tablescape
The inspiration for this Fall Tablescape was inspired by something very small. I found a set of owl salt & pepper shakers a while ago. I’m not usually attracted to owls, but these little guys tugged at my heart. The entire tablescape was taken from those little owls.
Decorating a Votive Candle Holder
Decorating Votive Candle Holders is very easy. Some of them when finished, can be very expensive. I’ll show you how to make 4 of them for very little money. They can be customized to go with what ever you need them for. Decorating, Weddings, Parties, Gifts…
Patriotic Decorated Candles
I had a lot of fun with this one. I’ve been playing with decorations for the 4th of July, and the thought of decorated candles come naturally to me. (I guess it’s because I love the look and feel of candlelight).
As usual, it’s an incredibly easy project to do.
Father’s Day Photo Centerpiece-tutorial
Father’s Day is just around the corner. I’ll be doing one of my usual tablescapes. But I needed a centerpiece for it. I could have put flowers on the table, but I thought that was too girly for a man. I could have used a cake as a centerpiece, but that idea bored me. I needed something special for a man who is not only the glue that holds this family together, but a wonderful father. It had to be unique. Then the light bulb went off in my head. And by now, you know that when I get an idea in my head, I’ll find a way to make it work. This is the idea that I came up with:
And this is how I did it:
Playing in the Sand – tutorial
I started to do this with sand box sand years ago. (it’s a clean sand) Once you make this, it can be applied to several items for your home decor. Summer brings thoughts to days at the beach. And this is a process that will bring the beach into your home easily. When it’s dried, it looks like wet sand.
So, save those shells from your vacations, or have your friends bring some back for you!
I’ve made everything from centerpieces to picture frames & candle holders using this formula. I hope you’ll give it a try.
